heh, I know, doc. You don't have to tell us. [ the cakes all wibble alongside ratio. ] We'll make sure the pizza can no longer hurt mama. [ the pizza is going to be taken out back and beaten within an inch of its cheesy life. and by out back i mean it'll be taken into the kitchen and cut up with pizza cutters while aventurine is left to ratio. ] I don't know. Didn't he say that everybody had to take care of themselves? And in that game they all died... that couldn't possibly have 'helped'... And then I might have overdone it with the healing.
[ Telling them not to bother would mean the cats harass them again, so he just... lets them take the pizza away. ] Ah. That foolish mistake of yours...

[ Though it's also everyone else's fault for offering ridiculous and frivolous things to Reaper instead of anything useful. Ratio picks up Aventurine carefully, stepping through another portal to carry him back to their apartment. ]

I didn't do it for them... [ he cups ratio's face and smooths a thumb over one of his cheeks. ] I did it for you. I know you didn't die then, but... we don't know how things will be going forward, and if I can ensure that you don't have to float around as a mask permanently, then... [ his hand drops and he gives ratio a kiss. ] I didn't need to think twice. I love you, Veritas, and I want to make sure you're safe just as much as you want to try to keep me safe.
[ Ratio sighs, laying Aventurine comfortably down in the bed and leaning down to press a kiss to his forehead. He stays in bed too, checking his temperature. ] I know. But I am very well capable of taking care of myself, especially in situations where we must make a deal for something.

But the games here aren’t fair, and there’s always a chance that you could fall victim to one of them. [ he cuddles close. ] Until then… do you think you could… spoil me tonight…
I know we will. And I can help you too. You need to make a shrine to that guy, right… [ he rolls his eyes. ] And tell everybody about him… Have you even started doing that yet? [ he snorts softly. ]
Let’s watch a movie. Something… mindless. Like a romcom. And cuddle. [ he wants to snuggle with your chest, ratio. ]
