[ But he suppresses that just as quickly as it shows, and grabs him by the wrist. Veritas shifts it so the gun moves to his temple instead, his hand covering Aventurine's. ]
[ He doesn't pull back as he's yanked in, and in fact closes the distance between them further to press a soft kiss to his lips. ]

[ With his index finger still over Aventurine's, he pulls the trigger. ]

Veritas. [ following the kiss his facade cracks, as does his voice. he tries one last time to yank the gun away, but he's forced to pull the trigger and, much to his dismay, it goes off. ]
[ he lays him down carefully. ] Or I'll never forgive you. [ he shrugs off his jacket and throws it overtop him, setting his hat on his face to cover it. he reclaims the bullets he set on the counter, loading them back into his gun. ]
[ he drinks both of their drinks and then heads for the door, ] ...see you soon. [ time to go to the morgue. ]

[ ratio will hear him opening each locker and pulling out the stretchers if he notices a body bag. he eventually finds him and unzips the bag. ] I hate you. [ he says right before he kisses him. ]
[ he's tempted to squeeze the water bottle and spray it straight into his face for that, but he doesn't... instead taking a step back to fold his arms and lean against another stretcher. ] A result of your revival?
Apparently. [ He drains the rest of the water bottle anyway. ] ...Do I appear the same as I did before I died? I feel the same, but feelings aren't a very objective judgement.
It could be worse. [ he looks him over. ] It's hard to tell. [ his lips quirk. ] If you'd like me to give you a complete examination you'll have to undress, doctor. [ you look fine, ratio. ]
[ he does reach for his head, fingers brushing where he had the gun barrel. ]
There would be no point to that, considering where I shot myself. The rest of me should remain unaffected.
[ He leans ever so slightly into Aventurine's touch. As much as he'd like to pretend otherwise, dying did affect him. ] ...is there a trace of injury left?
We don't know that... because you lost your sense of taste as a result of shooting yourself. [ he scrunches his face, but it relaxes and his expression even softens afterward. ] No... [ threads his fingers through his hair. ] It looks fine. [ then he moves his hand further back, grabbing a handful of his hair and yanking him in for a kiss. ] Don't ever do that again. [ hissed against his lips. ]
Taste is a sense. It's affected by the brain. It could very well have been a direct result of-
[ His deductions are cut off as Aventurine threads fingers through his hair and, for once, robs him of words. The kiss has him almost regret his actions, but... it was for research. He had to see. ]

[ He pauses, like he's uncharacteristically at a loss for words before he shakes his head like he's trying to clear it. ] ...go over my findings.
[ this is as much for him as it is for you, ratio, so shhhh! ] ...alright. [ said under his breath as he takes his time leading them back. once they're inside he goes to grab a couple of pillows and blankets, spreading them out of the floor to make a 'bed'. ] Want a pad, some paper, ..?
